The access to essential drugs is one of the major concerns for
MSF.
Through their expertise, pharmacists are in charge of drugs management as well
as medical equipment on MSF projects. They work closely to the rest of the team.
Description of tasks and responsibilities
to ensure pharmaceutical practices comply with national rules
to be in charge of drugs management and medical equipment: order, storage and
distribution in MSF projects; to supervise staff dealing with daily management
of products
to ensure good practice of distribution
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Required qualifications and skills
to be qualified as a pharmacist or pharmacist’s assistant
to have a work experience of at least two years, ideally in a hospital
to be available for at least nine months
to be able to use computers
it is essential to speak English, speaking French is also desirable
to be able to work within a multicultural and multitask team

Ability to cope with

as a part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team
Ability to organise

a minimum of 9 months
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Experience
in developing countries
Knowledge
of languages, particularly French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic or Russian
Interest
and/or experience in international humanitarian rights issues, international
relations, anthropology
Previous field experience
in a similar role with a non-government organisation
Travel or work experience
in indigenous/remote/developing/cross-cultural communities
