PNG cholera steady but true numbers not known. Médecins Sans Frontières is treating cholera patients in Papua New Guinea and says the situation is moderate but stable. A specially constructed Cholera Treatment Centre has been set up at Angau Memorial General Hospital in Lae, where Médecins Sans Frontières is treating 10 to 15 new patients a day. One of the doctors on the ground is Karin Lind. She says many patients who seek treatment are ready to go home within 6 hours. But she fears for those who are feeling isolated by the disease.
