We are providing medications and supply that will be used to treat a total of 660 patients over a 6 month period. Supplies have reached four dialysis centers in most urgent need in Sana’a, Hajja, Taiz and Al-Mahweet. However most of the 28 functioning centers in Yemen lack supplies, causing interruptions in treatment to patients in need.
The situation facing dialysis treatment is another example of the deterioration in access to healthcare in Yemen. The war is crippling the healthcare structure capacity to respond to health needs. The Yemeni Ministry of Health has not been able to support dialysis centers in Yemen as the war has led to import restrictions hindering the ministry’s ability to cover the needs of the dialysis centers.
