We run clinics for internally displaced people and the local population in Herat, offering emergency consultations, including for non-communicable diseases, screening and treatment of malnutrition, care for mothers and their newborns, as well as childhood vaccinations and health promotion sessions for displaced people in the surrounding area. We also support a 40-bed Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre at Herat Regional Hospital, for hungry children in the most urgent need.
We are there helping ensure health infrastructure in the region can cope during waves of COVID-19, a serious threat for people on the move and often with pre-existing health conditions. We are triaging COVID-19 cases in Herat Regional Hospital and have established a COVID-19 treatment centre in Gazer Gah.
I would like to ask you to kindly consider supporting our lifesaving work in Herat with a gift today.
If you have questions or would like to discuss further, please contact your relationship advisor.
Médecins Sans Frontières is committed to providing ongoing healthcare to our patients in Afghanistan, and we would be very grateful if you were there with us.
