Surrounded by a team of midwives and assistants, Solange provides critical care to women throughout their pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum period. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) strongly condemns the violent incursion by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) into the emergency room of Bashair Teaching Hospital in South Khartoum on 18 December. The attackers fired weapons inside the emergency ward, directly threatened medical staff, and severely disrupted lifesaving care. MSF urgently calls on RSF to respect the neutrality of medical facilities and the safety of healthcare workers.

The team at the MSF Arbovirus Prevention Project released over eight million mosquitos deliberately infected with the bacteria in El Manchén in 2023. Their hope was that the mosquitos would thrive, reproducing and passing Wolbachia down through the generations, radically reducing the rate of dengue in the area.
