In our nearly 54 years of operations as an organisation, rarely have we seen such systemic violence against civilians as what we are seeing right now in Gaza.

Children shot in the chest while reaching for food. People crushed or suffocated in stampedes. Entire crowds gunned down at distribution sites.

The so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) distribution sites are cruelty disguised as aid, with desperate and starving civilians being slaughtered. This must stop now.

STAND FOR PEACE

We are seeing the decimation, destruction, and continued dehumanisation of Palestinians inside Gaza. Our teams are witnessing firsthand the targeted and indiscriminate violence by Israeli forces against starved Palestinians at militarised food distribution sites, which we documented in our report released last week.

Between 7 June and 24 July, our teams at MSF’s Al-Mawasi and Al-Attar clinics in southern Gaza, located near the GHF-run distribution sites, received 1,380 casualties, including 28 dead. And while we only treat a fraction of the total number of people injured in at these sites, the numbers are still shocking: during those seven weeks, our teams treated 71 children for gunshot wounds, 25 of whom were under the age of 15. Patients included a 12-year-old boy hit by a bullet that had passed all the way through his abdomen, a woman who died of asphyxiation, an eight-year-old girl who had suffered a gunshot wound to her chest, and a five-year-old boy with severe head injuries.

"Malnutrition is everywhere, food insecurity is everywhere. We currently have 1,600 people in programs treating people for malnutrition, the number has multiplied by five since May. Another impact of food insecurity for our patients is that the fact the wounded patients and people with burns who we are taking care of, need almost twice as much calories as normal people to heal, and since they don’t have access to that much food it means that their wounds don’t heal, actually they get infected again and flies are coming and then you see worms in their wounds, very often times and very quickly. So basically, people see their wounds rot... 

"This is an extreme situation which we don’t see very often in the contexts where we’re working. The basic lack of access to food leads to serious complications that  require further surgery and for some of the patients amputations."

In what ways can I donate to Medecins Sans Frontieres? 
Is my donation tax-deductible? 

Yes. Médecins Sans Frontières is endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient organisation. All donations made in Australia to Médecins Sans Frontières Australia over $2 are tax deductible.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation? 

Yes you will. For a one-off donation you will receive an instant receipt via email. For regular gifts, tax receipts are sent annually, towards the end of July. Please keep your address details updated so we can ensure you receive your tax receipt.

Can I donate to a specific country or project? 

We appreciate that some of our supporters may have a particular interest in a country or program in which we work. While in some (rare) circumstances it is possible to have your gift directed toward a specific program or country where we are currently working, we ask that you contribute unrestricted funding. By not restricting your contribution for a specific emergency or project, you will enable us to allocate our resources more efficiently and where the need is greatest.

Can I make my donation as a tribute in honour or memory of someone?
