COVID-19 Crisis Appeal

Responding to global health emergencies is in our blood.

Ever since COVID-19 began spreading across the world – leaving very few countries untouched by its devastating impact – Médecins Sans Frontières has been there to deliver emergency medical care to people in crisis.

Right now, we are deploying medical teams to the frontlines, supporting healthcare workers, sending urgent medical supplies, and extending upon our decades of experience working in emergency situations to provide medical care to those who need it most.

The arrival of COVID-19 does not mean that the refugee crises, conflicts and other epidemics that Médecins Sans Frontières is responding to are now any less urgent. The virus only creates more danger and instability for already vulnerable people, which is why we are continuing to provide essential healthcare services where safe and possible.

How we're responding to COVID-19

We have reorganised the way our medical services operate in order to be able to reduce risk of COVID-19 transmission, while maintaining essential services, such as our measles vaccination campaign in Chad, and malaria consultations in Niger.

We are transforming the way we provide care to vulnerable people living in uncertain conditions where it is often not possible to physically distance, such as refugee camps, overcrowded accommodation, substandard housing or on the streets.

To ensure the safety of our frontline healthcare workers and patients, we are making sure that staff have access to all the equipment and protective gear they need to perform their jobs both safely and effectively.

We are advocating strongly for access to essential medical tools to all, at an affordable cost. We believe there should be no profiteering on any emerging medical tools that may be the key to ending this pandemic.

With your support, we can continue to strengthen our response to the COVID-19 pandemic together, in the places we are most urgently needed. Please donate today.

If we reach our fundraising target that supports our COVID-19 response, all additional donations will be directed to our general fund and will assist patients wherever the need is greatest.
