Join us in calling for an enduring ceasefire

We are calling for an immediate and enduring ceasefire in Gaza and Israel to prevent further civilian deaths and allow aid workers unrestricted access to provide lifesaving medical care. 

AN ENDURING CEASEFIRE IS CRUCIAL TO:

1. Prevent more deaths. More than 38,000 people have now been killed in Gaza. Tens of thousands are missing, presumably buried under the rubble. More than 1,200 people have been killed in Israel. 
2. Ensure access to lifesaving emergency medical care. There are more than 88,000 wounded Palestinians, with that number growing every hour. An immediate and enduring ceasefire will enable people to safely reach healthcare facilities.
3. Enable humanitarian organisations to safely enter Gaza, bringing in essential medical personnel and supplies, food, water and shelter materials. Israel must open borders for aid into Gaza.
4. Protect medical infrastructure. Attacks on hospitals must stop now. During war, wounded people, healthcare facilities, staff and services are protected under international humanitarian law. A cessation of hostilities will prevent further attacks on vital healthcare infrastructure in Gaza and allow for some restoration of critical services.

Now that governments around the world are uniting in their call for an immediate and enduring ceasefire, MSF is appealing for increased political pressure to make a ceasefire an immediate reality on the ground in Gaza and to end the escalating violence in the West Bank.
