Cyclone Idai Response - redirected

On March 14, Tropical Cyclone Idai hit the coastal town of Beira in Mozambique, with winds of up to 200 kilometres per hour and relentlessly heavy rains. In its wake, a city of close to 500,000 inhabitants has been left destroyed. The storm’s impact has affected people as far inland as Zimbabwe and Malawi.

While we are still assessing the full scale of Cyclone Idai’s impact, it is clear the needs will be immense.

Médecins Sans Frontières teams are on the ground in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi, providing medical emergency support to the populations affected.

To enable us to act in the aftermath of any humanitarian medical crisis, such as Cyclone Idai, please consider making a donation to support the work of Médecins Sans Frontières.

Rohingya Refugee Crisis - redirected

Since 25 August 2017, a massive exodus of over 700,000 Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar. Among them are heavily pregnant women, elderly people and children. The crisis is far from over.

Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh must now contend with new dangers: precarious living conditions, potential disease outbreaks and fears for personal safety after dark.

We continue to scale up our activities in the area to respond to the crisis.

Yemen Crisis - redirected

Three years of fighting in Yemen has left the country in ruins. Yemenis are struggling to survive as the warring parties have destroyed much of the country’s public infrastructure, including health facilities.

This short animation, narrated by Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent, explains how conflict has a devastating impact on national health.

Médecins Sans Frontières is on the ground in Yemen providing crucial medical services, performing surgeries, treating malnutrition, and providing mental healthcare.

Please consider making a donation to support the work of Médecins Sans Frontières in over 70 countries.
