WGEA Employer Statement
At Médecins Sans Frontières Australia (MSFA), we recognise that cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace is fundamental to fulfilling our humanitarian mission. We foster an environment that encourages full participation from all team members. We are dedicated to ensuring equal opportunities for learning, development, and opportunities for success, regardless of gender.
2025 marks our third instance of public reporting under the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). Last year's data indicated a higher reported pay gap in favour of men driven by a concentration of higher-paid technical roles and organisational restructuring. Over the last year, targeted actions to strengthen female leadership and representation have contributed to more balanced pay distribution. Fewer women are now concentrated in lower-paid jobs, and greater representation is evident at senior levels. As a result, we are pleased to report that MSFA achieved a gender-neutral balance, with a 0.0 pay gap.
Our approach to advancing gender equity remains steadfast. Key initiatives include gender-neutral parental leave, flexible working arrangements, and continued superannuation contributions during both paid and unpaid parental leave, each designed to support an inclusive organisational culture.
Our Executive Leadership Team and Board remain firmly committed to maintaining gender equality as a strategic priority. We recognise that progress requires collaboration, accountability, and sustained effort. By prioritising equity across all facets of our operations, we aim to strengthen our commitment to transparency and inclusivity, ensuring all staff have equitable opportunities for progression. MSF Australia is committed to driving meaningful and enduring improvements for both our workforce and the communities we serve.
