On her first assignment with MSF in the southeast of Tanzania, Swiss medical doctor Dr Sarah Meyer helps overcome barriers for women to avoid, and survive, serious complications in pregnancy and childbirth.

Dr Hyomin Lee is a South Korean doctor anaesthetist who has worked with MSF for the past decade or so, and most recently returned from a five-week assignment in Moïssala, southern Chad. Having worked in the same project in 2022, she was privileged to see how intensive care upgrades had directly improved the quality of care.
