 Diphteria vaccination campaign in Batha Province, Chad

A diphtheria epidemic is currently raging in the Batha region of central Chad. Since June 2023, more than 825 cases and 36 deaths have been reported.

The Ebola outbreak in Uganda was declared on 20th September. According to the Ministry of Health, as of 7th November: 136 cases have been confirmed, 53 deaths were confirmed from Ebola and 61 people recovered

Since the outbreak began, cases have been detected in a total of eight of Uganda’s 111 districts, including in the capital city. The government confirmed five cases on October 23rd in Kampala, a packed urban centre. 

Lebanon: Cholera outbreak after nearly three decades

After Syria, where a cholera outbreak has now spread over most of the country, affecting 13 of the 14 governorates, on October 6th, 2022, the Minister of Public Health (MoPH) in Lebanon has also officially declared a cholera outbreak in the country.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is in Lebanon helping provide access to water, set up sanitation systems, and provide medical aid.
